How To Encode A Ipac4 Into Batocera

1. Best Option: Switch to Gamepad / XInput Mode (Recommended)

The iPac 4 supports Quad Gamepad or XInput modes, which makes it appear as up to 4 standard controllers — perfect for a 4-player cabinet.

  • Switch modes on the board:
    • Hold Player 1 Start + Player 1 Button 3 for about 10 seconds to switch to XInput / Quad Gamepad mode.
    • (Alternative for basic D-Input: Hold Start1 + P1SW2 (Player 1 Button 2) for 10 seconds.)
  • After switching:
    1. Plug the iPac 4 into your Batocera machine.
    2. Go to Batocera → Controller Settings → Configure a Controller.
    3. Map each “virtual” controller (it should show up as multiple gamepads).

This is plug-and-play in newer Batocera versions and works great for most emulators.
Tip: Use Ultimarc’s WinIPAC software (on a Windows PC) to check your firmware version and update if needed. Newer firmware (1.56+) fully supports Quad XInput on iPac 4.
